Javier Cabral is the co-author of "Oaxaca: Home Cooking from the Heart of Mexico." His inclusive street-level journalism vision as Editor in Chief of "L.A. TACO" earned him a James Beard Award in 2020. He is also an Associate Producer for the Beard-winning "Las Cronicas del Taco" on Netflix and was the former restaurant scout for the Pulitzer Award-winning food critic, Jonathan Gold. His past work includes being the West Coast Editor and Staff Writer for Vice MUNCHIES. He was raised in East Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley and has been reporting on food culture since 2005.
